SP Biswas
SP Biswas abandoned a science degree to follow his calling after a life-changing encounter with the works of Ganesh Pyne and Dharmanarayan Dasgupta. He later earned a gold medal during his MFA at Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata. His paintings explore the relationship between geometric patterns and colours through a meditative process that balances logic with intuition. While he works, the rhythmic structures of Indian classical Ragas guide his brush to create a sense of architectural harmony. This approach draws from the influence of masters like S.H. Raza and Mark Rothko to produce vibrant, abstract pieces that celebrate a profound optimism for the world.
